Let's get one thing signed before anything else

We are not going to lower your standards. Read that twice, because everyone arrives braced for it. Your standards are not the problem — they've built real things, and they're staying.

The problem is the contract: the clause underneath the standards that says you *are* your output. That your worth gets re-scored with every email, every report, every loaded dishwasher — renewed daily, collectable hourly. High standards with a flexible bar built your best work. High standards with a noose is the thing that has you re-reading sent emails at midnight.

This program breaks the contract and keeps the standards. Standards you choose, at prices you agree to.

How the six weeks work

  • Short sessions, about three a week, ten to fifteen minutes each.
  • A thirty-second evening check-in — three numbers: today's checks, minutes of polish past the bar, and how good-enough felt. It's the program's meter.
  • Experiments. This is the engine, starting week two. You can't out-argue perfectionism — it owns the judge. But it loses experiments, and we're going to run a lot of them, with receipts.
  • A weekly review where your own numbers set the pace.

The prediction I'll make now

You're planning to do this program perfectly. Perfect check-in streak, thoughtful answers, maybe notes. I know — and it's fine; it's the only gear you've got right now. But notice it, because it's the contract following you in here. Somewhere in week two, the program itself will end up on the experiment list: done at good-enough, on purpose. Consider that a standing appointment.

Tonight: the baseline (measuring costs, not character), the map of where perfectionism runs, and your reminder time. That's all.
